A transformer converts the mains power (220V or 110V) to a safe voltage, which is then connected to the light via a waterproof cable. Some modern pool lights use wireless induction power supply technology, further reducing the safety risks posed by underwater wiring.

In terms of light source technology, traditional pool lights use either halogen bulbs or LEDs. LEDs are the mainstream choice due to their high efficiency, energy efficiency, and long lifespan. They offer a variety of colors (such as white, blue, and color-changing) and can create dynamic lighting effects via a controller. The LED chip is sealed within a waterproof lens, and a heat dissipation design ensures long-term stable operation.

In addition, some high-end pool lights integrate intelligent control systems, allowing brightness, color, and on/off times to be adjusted via a mobile app or timer, enhancing the user experience.
